Many Books, Little Time

If one cannot enjoy reading a book over and over again, there is no use in reading it at all. –Oscar Wilde

I am a voracious reader.  Reading chapter books by the age of 4, I graduated to The Chronicles of Narnia by 6 and Nancy Drew/ Hardy Boys by 7.  Soon I was consuming everything my parents were willing to let me read.  Arabian Nights had to be postponed till I was older, but The Three Musketeers has been one of my favorites since I was 9.  This is where Oscar Wilde comes in.  I have read hundreds of books in my life, but only a certain few do I take the time to reread.  Sure, sometimes I go back over my favorite parts a couple times, but there are just some books that truly capture the heart.  This list will offer the names of those books I truly recommend.  Some are funny, some sad.  Some are biographical, and others merely fictional.  But all of them are stories near and dear to my heart.  Since I am repeatedly asked what I would recommend for children, I’ll try to include some of my favorites from childhood as well.  What are your favorites?  Remember, only books worth reading more than once!  🙂  I’ll keep adding as I find time.
