How to Get rid of the Pesky Bing “New Tab” Page on Google Chrome

Dell technicians have been playing around on my computer the last few days, and have installed Magic Jellybean Keyfinder in the process. That’s all well and good but it brings with it “Conduit’s search engine” and the terrible “Bing Home Page” for my “New Tab” on Google Chrome.  

Conduit SUCKS! Big time. So I deleted Conduit right away.  (By the way, if you are looking to remove the Bing “Search Engine,” Check out the “removing Conduit” page–the steps are the same.)

Figuring out how to get the Bing Home Page from showing up everything I start up Chrome or open up a “New Tab” was more difficult. I tried going through settings.  That didn’t work.  Then I tried Googling it. That suggested I get rid of Conduit, but I already had. It also suggested disabling all extensions until I figured out what was causing it, but it wasn’t any of those.

Erasing “Conduit”

If you have ever been hit by the Conduit attack, you know what I’m talking about. It sneaks in with random programs, usually without permission or anyone telling you it came with.  Magical Jellybean Keyfinder is one such program.  It’s a search engine/home page that takes over every browser or page you use.  In fact, I keep feeling like it is somehow a virus. Very suspicious. But also Very Hard to Get Rid Of.
