The Kentucky Derby is a fashionista’s heaven~ so many awesome hats and styles! Here are a few of my personal favorites from yesterday (May 3, 2014).

The coloring mixed with the ribbons and feather arrangement makes a very artsy yet simple look.
Photo: Al Wollerton This just puts me in mind of a Mint Julip ~ perfect for the spring Derby.
Photo: Laura Robinson / Power Creative This layered look in the front gives the traditional hat quite a lift. It pulls the eyes upward, adding a regal influence.
Photo: Chris Burkhardt Polka-Dots never go out of style. Especially not when combined with the classic black and white. Great formal look!
Photo: Mark Zerof Because nothing makes me happier than bright spring yellow when out in the sun!
Photo: Joe Imel I would never have picked this off the rack (I look terrible in that green), but Ms. Jones rocks this hat. Combined with her outfit, it’s vibrancy is awesome. Even the bouncing decorations reflect the excitement of the day

Photo: David Goldman Another traditional throw-back, this one returns to the bright white that time has proven stunning. Then the red lining takes it from purely classing straight into snazzy.
Photo: Joe Imel While short and sweet is good, so is vibrant and bouncy. This hat is perfect for a girl her age; it emphasizes her youth and the brightness of her personality. So Pretty!
Photo: David J. Phillips Another great look for those of the younger generation. You can’t go wrong with a pretty pink; it’s a beautiful color for putting blush in your cheeks and capturing youthful shine.
