New pets!
24 FebLadies and Gentlemen, I’d like to introduce you to my brand new fishies!! Quai Quai (QQ) is a sweet blue boy happy to swim alongside his friend LeLe, the pink girl. Quai Le is part of the greeting for happy New Years, so my friend Harry thought the name was perfect 🙂 aren’t they darling. I love them already!
They are painted glass fish, and we’re kind of a spur of the moment buy. Apparently their colors are the result of some unethical changes, but I’m still glad to have these new friends. Maybe the rest of their lives can be happy with me! But only if LeLe quits trying to chase QQ around the bowl 🙂

Chinese New Year’s Celebration in Xinzheng, Henan, China. The fireworks were beautiful! There were 8-10 sets of fireworks going off all around us all at once, and the sounds echoed like gunfire or shots. It was everywhere, and it was glorious! I’ve never been close enough and high enough, but the fireworks were right in front of us at eye level!

Chinese Fireworks!
19 FebThis video was taken by a friend of mine (I’ll upload mine tonight too), and I thought it did a great job of showing you just how many fireworks were going off all at once around the city. It was mind-blowingly cool! I counted at least 10 places setting them off at the same time, and from the roof you could see them for miles!

17 FebHah! I was practicing Chinese this morning and trying to make use of Google Translate’s voice translation. I told it “San” the Chinese word for three, and do you know the sucker told me? LOL! Yes, that’s right, it translated three, thought a moment and told me lol! How rude! Also, best bad translation ever!
