Delicous treasure from one of my adorable students today – another gave me some Bon Bons.  Since I had to work on #thanksgiving (not a Holiday abroad 😭), this was quite the treat!

Heading Home

7 Oct

Waiting to head home to #China!

RANT: Reminded how much I HATE #United Airlines.  Had to pay $100 for my second suitcase – KoreanAir, JAL, Air China, China Southern . . . . all give me two suitcases when flying to Asia from US.  Not the American airline company though!.

Rant over – now Waiting at my gate 😜 Judging by the #dinosaur bones – it might be a long wait 😂 Flight just delayed Due to broken plane. 😣

#Airport Food and Fun

2 Oct

Fun times with a 5 hour #layover at #ICN #airport!  The historical parade was out in force for photo shoots, and #angelinus coffee served up some delicious #peachtea and cookies & cream smoothie.

Happy Chinese Lantern Festival!

11 Feb

Happy Lantern Festival!  Tonight is the night (15 days after #ChineseNewYear ) when the Chinese light paper lanterns and send them up to the sky.

My picture wasn’t very good 😭 I’ll post a better one later. But the #moon sure was pretty! Here in Zhengzhou, we have the highest smog records for the country, so the moon is a rare night.  Today was perfect for the festival! Clear skies, brisk air, and a good wind. 😄

Wishing you all the best and a great upcoming year! 🍀

Merry Christmas from China!

24 Dec

Great Christmas Eve! 🎅 Went to breakfast and shopping with mom. Saw totally cute gift ideas!! 😊 Then my friend Harry came by and we made peanut butter and ritz cookies, had delicious dinner, walked the river looking at the lights, saw the fireworks, etc. ❄ Even saw an electrical fire! 😱 Then the lovely cafe owner’s wife gave me a cupcake for Christmas 😍 Even though China doesn’t really celebrate Christmas, lots of locals stopped to wish me Merry Christmas. Then woke up this morning to awesome gifts, delicious breakfast treats from a friend, and a spa day. Tonight I party with some friends here at the foreign housing.  A real wonderful life!

Dance-Off Party

12 Dec

These are my amazing students! As part of our Business Negotiations class, I asked them to prepare a group dance. They had to work together and we voted on who had the best dance. There were some GREAT ideas here, and I was really proud of them. Make sure you watch the last dance!

What the **** did I just hear?

4 Dec

Seriously. Working on a presentation on the economic impact of the Japanese Tsunami on their Economy. Stumbled across this video report from the time. Starting at 0:36 the CNBC report is just so horrific to listen to from an ethics standpoint.

Dude: “The human toll is much greater than the economic toll, and we can be grateful for that . . . . .”

Then the woman throws in: “and Oil is lower, so they say this is good news for the American economy.”

0_0 WHAT! What the H E double hockey-sticks did I just hear? Please tell me they did not just say that. What the every loving ***** ***** ***** Sorry, this just begs for some words I can’t say being a Christian woman. Who the heck cares about any of that when children were dying and a whole nation was under natural attack. I’m just . . no words. I’ve got no words.
