Needless Waste

7 Nov

The Government is getting ready to destroy all this ivory in a message that they are taking the issue seriously.

Say What!?!  Why on earth would you needlessly destroy this ivory?  This isn’t honoring the animals that suffered to give this ivory. This isn’t a call about how much we regret their harm.  This is just creating a bigger market for ivory by making a shortage. They’ve just raised the price, so now there is a greater incentive to go get ivory.  They have raised the risk to the very animals we want to save!

Why not shape the horns into little animals and sell/give them away as a charity fund-raiser to save the animals?!?  Then you wouldn’t create a shortage, but your message would get out. But this? This is a total waste!!!!!!!  (Also how many pianos could have been saved through this ivory?–the Government’s a D*** to Pianos. And as a pianist, I find that seriously of the wrong!)

Happy Anniversary to me! Today marks the 1 year anniversary from the moment I started “DeceptivelyBlonde,” my very first blog ever. It started with the thoughts and pictures and heart-felt comments from yours truly, beginning with “Travelling in a 외국의 (foreign) Land” and launching out into many directions. I’ve talked about everything from Gluten-free cooking, to stressed out law school rants, to favorite poems, travel articles, history lessons and more.  I originally expected to focus on travelling, but I got swept away in the many enjoyments of life and the beauty of sharing them.  It started as one blog, and has now morphed into several blogs and websites, including:

and more. . .  The websites have seen thousands of views and many, many followers who have helped motivated this dream.

And today, I want to thank you, my readers, for going along with me on the ride.  You have faithfully stood by me all this time, supporting me with your Likes and Comments, which I appreciate way more than you know!  It has been a blessing in my life to feel connected with each of you, to read your blogs in turn and to see the world through your eyes.  So THANK YOU! You all rock!

Remember, Remember

5 Nov

 Remember, remember!
    The fifth of November,
    The Gunpowder treason and plot;
    I know of no reason
    Why the Gunpowder treason
    Should ever be forgot!
    Guy Fawkes and his companions
    Did the scheme contrive,
To blow the King and Parliament
    All up alive.
    Threescore barrels, laid below,
    To prove old England’s overthrow.
But, by God’s providence, him they catch,
With a dark lantern, lighting a match!
    A stick and a stake
    For King James’s sake!
If you won’t give me one,
    I’ll take two,
    The better for me,
    And the worse for you.
A rope, a rope, to hang the Pope,
A penn’orth of cheese to choke him,
A pint of beer to wash it down,
And a jolly good fire to burn him.
Holloa, boys! holloa, boys! make the bells ring!
Holloa, boys! holloa boys! God save the King!
    Hip, hip, hooor-r-r-ray!

Bar Exam Results & MPRE Requirements

4 Nov

Hey!

For my Law School followers, I’ve added two new pages to the blog.

  • The first is “Bar Exam Results” — Here you can find links to all the officially posted Bar Results (some states don’t post them, and I’ve marked those) and Statistics. This covers all 50 states as well as Guam, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Virgin Islands, and the Northern Mariana Islands. Good Luck!

  • The second is “State MPRE Reqs” — Here I share the minimum passing score for each state and the time limits for when they will accept an MPRE. Did you know that 2 states don’t actually require an MPRE score? Good News!
