Dragon Hill Spa

Traveling abroad is no picnic in the park, as even the most seasoned travelers will tell you.  Between figuring out your way around, trying to understand the foreign language, and constantly participating in the activities and events that brought you there in the first place, life gets incredibly hectic.

Then, you have to add in the fact that you are living in a strange place.  No bed that you recognize, often times (especially in Asian hotels) no bath to soak your weary bones, no familiar comforts of the home you’ve left behind.  After awhile you just need a break.

Well, it took much bravery on our parts, but this past summer, me and three other friends decided to try out one of Korea’s famous relaxing “Saunas” (also called the “Baths”).  One of us had been given a coupon to the Dragon Hill Spa, and, after looking at pictures online, we decided to try it out.  In the end, I would highly recommend the Dragon Hill Spa to visitors to Seoul.  It is an amazing experience, and it truly was the most relaxing thing I did.  As an introvert, I greatly needed a place to rest, and this was exactly what I needed.  Great place!! Avoiding Coffee Spills

13 Jan

Here is my random tip of the day!

I don’t know about anyone else, but I am constantly spilling coffee all over my hand.  Trying to carry the open cup from the coffee pot to a table-top usually leaves me with burn marks and rather loud expressions of words better left unspoken.  0_0

But then, a waitress offered me a little tip.  Did you know that it is easier to carry an open cup of coffee if you don’t look at it?

Acne Free-The Power of Aloe

12 Jan

Many years ago, I too was once a teenager. Shocking, right? And boy did I ever suffer from the infamous acne problem confronting so many teens.

I tried various products and they cured some of the more serious issues. But, nothing would keep those  pesky black- and whiteheads to quit from showing up.

Then, I read a book.  No, not a beauty book.  I was actually reading some random love story and it was talking about the beautiful “radiance” of the main character’s skin.  Supposedly, she put Aloe Vera on her face every night.  Idiot that I was (never attempt things you read from a fiction book), I decided to test it.  Here is what I found: It works!!!

Still Finding Ancient Buried Treasure

Still Finding Ancient Buried Treasure

It always seems so strange to me that there is still undiscovered buried treasure hidden about the world.  With all of our modern technology, archaeological hunts, and hundreds of treasure-hunters, the people of the past have still somehow managed to keep their secrets thousands of years after their deaths.

CLScholarship Semi-Finalist!

10 Jan

Yes!  (Fist pumping in the air), I got into the program as a semi-finalist.  We have now cut the applicant pool down from 4900+ to one third of that.  The second cut’s results will be posted in February when I will learn if I am one of the finalists.  Oh, I can’t wait!

I need a internet-wide hand-hold for the next few minutes. . .

10 Jan

CLScholarship results are out for the first level.  Apparently their are sending out acceptances and rejections as we speak. . . I have been waiting for this since last November!!! O_O  I am also a member to their facebook page, and so far only 3 out of 50+ were accepted.  This is an alarmingly low number!!

AHHHHHHH!!!

Zorbing–As deadly as it looks

Zorbing–As deadly as it looks

I had no earthly idea that Zorbing was even a thing.  Much less a recognized sport.  However, I think I’ll postpone trying it for a while.  Not unless I have walls guarding my every way down the mountain.  Who would have thought it could go so badly off course!

College Charm School

College Charm School

Interesting article talking about the move toward teaching college students manners.  Universities in the United States are beginning to offer lessons on charm for their students.  They’ll teach you everything from making a good impression to how to each a bread roll.  I think this is an excellent idea, manner are highly underrated in today’s day and age.  Considering the desperate need for jobs in the modern economy, students need all the advantages they can get, and this is a great way to get ahead of the pack.  Go colleges!

Oatmeal Masks!

9 Jan

Do you suffer from severe dry skin like I do?  Or are you just a little dry around the edges?  Either way, I have discovered the wonderful things that are oatmeal masks.  For years, I have suffered from serious dry skin and embarrassing hives.  This winter has been particularly bad on my face.  Every time I get out of the shower, my face is stings like crazy.  Even heavy moisturizers like Eucerin Cream aren’t working.  It just makes my face hurt worse.

Then a friend shared with me her secret.  She has the same problem except on a far worse level (she’s allergic to eggs, milk, grass, grains, etc.)–you name it, it causes her to break out in itchy, dry skin and hives. Well she told me the recipe for a face mask that she puts on every night, and I decided to try it out.  To my shock, it actually helped quite a bit.  And, it is far cheaper than the creams I was using.

How To Add Basic Amazon Associates Links to WordPress.com or Blogger.com

5 Jan

YES, I AM A NERD!!!

I spent all day playing around with Amazon Associates since I have recently been recommending books via my “Many Books, Little Time” link.  However, I quickly discovered that it is practically impossible to post the widgets for Amazon Associates via WordPress.com or Blogger.com. I’m assuming it is far easier on WordPress.org, but the free blogs make it inconvenient.  Then I discovered that most of the instructions offered online right now don’t seem to follow along with the newer layout of the modern WordPress.com and Blogger.com sites.

So, after great aggravation on my part and victory signs waved about after success, here is how I managed to add the links to my own pages.
