#Fire Drill – #China Style!

20 May

#Fire drill! #China style! 📣 Because we take your security seriously – we use real #smoke bombs to stink the building up, train you to go through usually locked doors, and ask that you guess when a fire starts because we have no smoke alarms. But you know, security!  At least now maybe they’ll stop padlocking all the outside doors at night 😂

Life in #China – #Buddhist Grottos

19 May

Gongyi Grottos – one of 4 Famous grottos in China.  These are places where loyal monks have carefully carved out thousand and millions of #buddhas and religious statues into the walls of nearby caves over CENTURIES!  Unfortunately, many of the ones in Henan were destroyed during the Cultural Revolution or were defaced by the Western militaries During the wars with China.  Still an amazing, awe-inspiring sight! Well worth the trip! Thanks to the Henan Provincial Tourism Bureau for sponsoring our trip today – it was lovely!

Happy #Mother’sDay!

14 May

For the best mom ever!

Happy Mothers Day everyone!

Mom, Mother, Mama, Ma, 妈妈, Mommy – whatever you call her, if you got a good one, say thanks.  Small piece of advice – despite stereotypes, not every mother is a good mother.  There are many out there who aren’t that awesome. If you got a good one, appreciate her.  Let her know how grateful you are that she cared for you.  She doesn’t have to – everything she’s done for you, it’s because she loved you. So just take some time and honor her for that!

For the rest of you, if you have someone out there who acted as a mom-stand-in for you, say thanks to them too.  Even if it was your single father, grandmother, step-mother, foster mother, friend, or just a great adult.  Tell them how much that care meant to you.

These people are important in our lives – it’s important for us to show it!

Happy Mother’s Day! ❤
